Help Quad Lock Support World Bicycle Relief
Powered by the remarkable human spirit, bicycles are a catalyst to possibilities.
In areas where walking is the only mode of transport, a Buffalo Bicycle offers the real and immediate benefit of reliable access to essential goods and services. World Bicycle Relief is mobilizing people through the Power of Bicycles.
Cycling is at the heart of Quad Lock®, which is why we're proud to be able to support the World Bicycle Relief initiative.
What is World Bicycle Relief?
Founded in 2005, World Bicycle Relief builds and distributes specially-designed, locally assembled, rugged bicycles (Buffalo Bicycles).World Bicycle Relief distributes sturdy, all-terrain Buffalo Bicycles to developing communities in Africa
Walking is the primary mode of transportation for many people in the developing world. Everyday tasks can quickly become a struggle against time and fatigue. Going to school and delivering goods to market is more challenging because of the barrier of distance.
WBR has developed an efficient, innovative and scalable model to successfully address the great need for reliable, affordable transportation in rural areas of developing countries.
What is a Buffalo Bike?
Strong as a buffalo! Featuring steel alloy frames, forks and spokes, the Buffalo Bicycles have been designed for reliability, strength and longevity over tough terrain.
Simple to maintain, the Buffalo Bicycle is deliberately compatible with locally available spare parts, requiring only basic tools for maintenance and repair.
Why have we chosen to support World Bicycle Relief?
We understand we're pretty lucky here, in Australia, so we were looking for a charity partner that fitted with what we do and what we're about.
World Bicycle Relief ticked all those boxes and just made sense to the whole team. We love how World Bicycle Relief helps so many people help themselves in a scalable way and the more we learnt about the program the more we found it just worked on so many levels.
